Project Description: Highly regarded as a Chicagoland favorite since 1967, the Village Links is a 27-hole public facility designed by Garrett's father, David Gill. Due in part to the closeness and sensitivity for it's original design philosophy, Gill Design, Inc. was commissioned to prepare a Master Plan for the City of Glen Ellyn in 2000. 2003 saw the implementation of our Phase 1 Master Plan, a complete renovation of the existing 18-hole course, with construction activities by Wadsworth Golf Construction Company of Plainfield, Illinois. In addition to remodeling the greens, tees, bunkers and fairways, the course was lengthened by nearly 300 yards and the par increased to 72. Phase 2 of the Master Plan (renovation of the 9-hole course) is set to begin in 2005. . |
